The Job Responsibilities include working or assisting the lead cabling technician in the execution of low voltage cabling systems for work orders and projects.
The ideal candidate must have 2-3 years of consulting experience experience in relative industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Low Voltage wiring
- Technician will install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture and wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT5e jacks. Mount faceplates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to IES COMMERCIAL labeling standards).
- Technicians will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
- Technician performs testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
- Technicians will identify active voice or data circuits.
- Technicians will assume responsibility for effective performance of crew meet required timeline to complete project.
- Technician will fully complete all COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
- Technicians will adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Technician II will complete other responsibilities as assigned.

- Experience with analog CCTV systems and DVR’s, CCTV IP Camera’s, Access control systems, intercom systems, Networking equipment, wireless point-to-point, remote or on-site support of PC’s, switches, and routers

- Ability to assess, evaluate, analyze, solve and fix the problem at hand.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
- Capable of recognizing network fundamentals

- Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, hammer drill, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves. Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, and butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester, 5-gang punch tool, Laptop console cable, cable tester etc.Requirements:

- Technicians must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
- Technicians must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- Technicians must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
- Technicians must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write, follow diagrams and instructions.
- Technicians must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Technician II must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Technicians must be able to travel to project locations throughout Broward and Dade County on an as needed basis.
- Candidates must have a valid state driver’s license and non-negligent driving record.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
